Hipster Taqueria El Camino Partners with Funky Buddha Brewery
New craft beer, El Camino Haze, to start flowing Feb. 23 at El Camino, Park Tavern and Funky Buddha Tap Room
(Delray Beach, FL) — El Camino Mezcal & Tequila Bar, a popular Mexican soul food restaurant and tequila bar located in downtown Delray Beach, FL, and soon to be on famed Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, has announced an exclusive partnership with Funky Buddha Brewery, a fast-growing craft brewery located in Oakland Park, FL.
The two organizations have come together to create El Camino Haze, a New England-style IPA brewed with flaked oats for a fluffy, rounded mouthfeel and cloudy complexion. Late-addition mosaic, Citra and El Dorado hops combine to give the beer an intense aromatic and juicy punch of tropical flavor.
El Camino Haze begins flowing at the Delray Beach location and at sister restaurant, Park Tavern (Delray Beach), and at the Funky Buddha Tap Room in Oakland Park on Feb. 23. The beer will also be available at the Las Olas location, which is scheduled to open in March 2018.
El Camino is known for serving up some of the best authentic Mexican cuisine using the freshest organic and local ingredients. The restaurant offers an extensive list of craft beer and cocktails, sangrias and agave spirits. Neighborhood restaurant Park Tavern focuses on farm-fresh ingredients, scratch kitchen, craft beers, seasonal cocktails and small production wines.
“We are excited about our new partnership with the Funky Buddha,” said co-founder Brian Albe, Modern Restaurant Group, which owns El Camino, Park Tavern and Steakhouse, Cut 432.
“Our involvement with Park Tavern dates back to our first-ever batch of Last Buffalo in the Park. This collaboration was inspired by our culinary approach to brewing and Park Tavern’s access to superior Bourbon barrels. Our collaboration with Funky Buddha allows us to stay true to our mission in working with small breweries.”
Named for a third year in a row to Opentable’s “Top 100 Hottest Spots in America” list, El Camino’s Delray Beach location is well-known for its popular late-night — midnight to 2 am — happy hour, which offers $2 tacos, $5 margaritas and 50 percent off all tequilas and Mezcal.
The eatery also draws huge crowds for Taco Tuesday, when guests can order any of the menu’s specialty tacos for $2. The Fort Lauderdale location will offer the same, as well as brunch with unlimited mimosa, craft beer and sangria options available.
